Dr. Rhythm is a one-man band of crazy men and entertainment is what he does best, specialising in the 5th element of the hiphop culture that is beatboxing ! Mixing his mental Wikipedia of music with his comical personality he leave’s audiences and amazed in hysterics, always anticipating…. what will he do next?
He hosts festivals, nightclubs and events through-out Queensland with a one of a kind stage presence and energy.
As a host/mc at events and nightclubs he is professional but also himself and manages to keep any event flowing and entertaining at the times when people need to be kept in their seats or made to go bonkers on the D-floor!
The Dr. co hosted a brand new kids TV game show in 2011 called What Do You Know? on ABC3 weeknights.He has spent most his life annoying the hell out of his neighbours playing the drums and now plays his electronic drums throughout clubs in Queensland with Dj Cutloose.
He’s the entertaining beatboxer spitting his set in styles of hiphop, rock, house, kid’s cartoons and even some of those cheesy hits from the nineties you chose to forget about.
After entering in the first ever New Zealand Beatbox Nationals back in 2004 he ventured to the UK.
He entered the 2006 London Beatbox Championships, which he won, toured with Bass6 as the first UK Beatbox duo and then went onto the UK Beatbox champs where he finished in the top 4.
Since arriving to Brisbane in 2006, he has performed sets at Summerfieldayze 2011 (hosting Field stage), Parklife 2010 (hosted main stage), BBQ Breaks, Sounds of Spring, Cheap Thrills, Singapore International Dance Festival, The Ekka, Gold Coast Surfers Cracker Festival 2010, Showcase 2010 in Fiji, Out of the Box Children’s Festival, Surfers Paradise Fringe Festival 2010, The Valley Fiesta 2009 and for the last 3 years has hosted Rumble Dance Comp and the FISAF Australian national aerobics and hiphop competition. He was a stand out act and semi-finalist in the 2008 series of Australia’s Got Talent, won first place in the Busking in the Bay competition 2010 and was signed to the Gold Coast Blaze Basketball team as their official beatboxer.
Not to mention he tours internationally with Raw Dance Company including their sold out shows with Last for One (World Break-dance Title Holders from Korea) at the Singapore Dance festival 2009. Rhythm will be with touring again with acclaimed Raw Dance Company for their Project X 2011 tour heading to 42nd Street in New York.
Just some of the artists Drama has shared the stage with are Raekwon, A-Trak, The Living End, Lyrics Born, Ugly Duckling, Vanilla Ice, Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Nextmen, DMC champs Cash Money, Dj Kentaro, Dj Mooqee, The Optimen, Tom Thum, Dj’s Sampology, Dj Habebe, Baby Gee, Danny T, Rob Pix and the Surecut Kids. The Dr. also beatboxed for Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Bone Thugs N Harmony at their official after party.
Doing shows everywhere using just his SM58 mic, his loop pedals or smashing his drum kit. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a festival, club night, TV commercial, school disco, kids party, *breathe* wedding, beatbox workshop, corporate show, work team building exercise or your mums 50th birthday.
With the stage presence of Dave Chapelle, some say the looks of Justin Timberlake *cough * the voice of Elmo, the Sound FX of a Transformer… Dr Rhythm is gonna blow The Remix away!!!
